Itinerary

Day: 1

Arrive Edinburgh

Welcome to Edinburgh!! Thanks to its spectacular rocks, rustic buildings and a huge collection of medieval and classic architecture, including numerous stone decorations, it is often considered one of the most lively cities in Europe. After Immigration clearance and baggage collection proceed to the arrival hall where you will meet the chauffeur holding placard of your name. Transfer to the hotel. In the evening, explore the old town on your own. You’ll find attractions, restaurants and nightlife galore. The Grassmarket area is especially popular with visitors to the city and you’ll find pubs serving traditional Scottish ales and whiskies. The winding Victoria Street that joins the Grassmarket to George IV Bridge is well worth a visit. The majority of clubs will stay open until 3AM and you’ll find a wide range of musical tastes catered for from rock to drum and bass to jazz to electro and beyond. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day: 2

Edinburgh Castle Tour

After breakfast leave for Edinburgh Castle Tour. Let yourself be fascinated by the legends and stories of war, sieges and prisons that hide behind the castle’s walls. You will learn how life began to grow around the volcano and how quickly the first fort appeared, how the wood of the fort turned to stone and then became a refuge for kings. You will be able to acquire knowledge on the city’s other most prominent buildings as well as the oldest one to date. Visit the National War Museum, where military fans will enjoy learning about the history of the guns and the military stories. Return to the hotel and relax. In the evening, you can visit the New town on your own. Check out the Scottish monument and see the sunset from Carlton hill. Then make your way to Rose Street which is a narrow, pedestrianized street and it is a popular location for groups of youngsters. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Edinburgh - Excursion to Loch Lomond National Park and Stirling Castle

This morning, you travel to Stirling Castle which is one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland. The castle sits on top of Castle Hill surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs that provide a strong defence. Then continue into the beautiful forested hills of the Trossachs National Park. You take the high road to Loch Lomond and you travel through the protected lands of Scotland's first National Park. The route you take is along the eastern shores, a beautiful sheltered stretch of the loch and the perfect place to enjoy a walk along the bonny banks. You can enjoy the view of Loch Lomond and walk in the footsteps of Scotland's famous highland folk hero, Rob Roy MacGregor. From here return to Edinburgh in the late afternoon. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day: 4

Edinburgh - Excursion to Highland Lochs, Glens and Whiskey Trail

Today, head for Highland Lochs, Glens and Whiskey Trail. You travel over the Forth Road Bridge past Perth to Dunkeld and the Hermitage, in Macbeth's Birnam Wood, for a forest walk amongst spectacular waterfalls and some of the tallest trees in the country. Then journey north to travel to see the Queen's View on Loch Tummel. Your afternoon continues with a visit to Dewar's Whiskey Distillery, before travelling the length of majestic Loch Tay, beneath the dramatic Ben Lawers to Killin in romantic Glen Dochart with its impressive waterfalls. This area is abundant with ancient history. Enjoy your tour!! Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day: 5

Edinburgh - Inverness (By Train/Approx 3.5 hours)

After an early breakfast, take a train to Inverness (on your own) and enjoy the train journey offering fantastic views. On reaching, check in to the hotel. Later, you can take a long stroll along River Ness which flows into the city from nearby Loch Ness, and admire the beautiful buildings that line the banks. Inverness Castle is worth seeing as well. The building itself is not open to the public, but you can see the grounds and enjoy the views from the cliff it sits on. If you don’t manage to see it in real life, you might be able to find it on the reverse side of a £50 note issued by the Royal Bank of Scotland. If you need to sit down, there are many lovely pubs dotted around Inverness – check out Hootenanny for live music and local craft beers. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day: 6

Inverness - Isle of Skye (By Bus/ Approx 2.5 hours)

Today after breakfast, check out and head to the Inverness bust station. Board a bus on your own to the Isle of Skye. On arrival, head to your hotel and relax. You can opt for the Trotternish tour (on direct payment). On this tour you will experience a rugged land of magnificent peaks, fast flowing rivers and isolated moors. You will be transported to the far northern peninsula of Skye at Trotternish, where you will have plenty time to explore and take several short walks in an area of fantastical landscapes and stunning coastal vistas. The Old Man of Storr is one of the iconic natural features of the dramatic Trotternish Ridge. The Old Man is a 200 ft stone pillar, which has detached itself from the highest point of the ridge, creating a fantastical landscape of twisted rocks, looming shadows and swirling mists. You will be dropped to your accommodation in the evening. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Skye - Stornoway, Outer Hebrides (By Ferry/Approx 2 hours)

After a lovely breakfast, checkout and then you will be taken to the beautiful Fairy Glen in Uig. This is the most important meeting place of the fairies on Skye. Wander between countless conical mounds, known in the Highlands as fairy knowes; put your ears to the grass and listen for the fairies at work inside. Bend down to search for elves in the glen's miniature forests, take the twisted path to the top of the fairy castle or walk the faun’s maze and have a wish granted! Later proceed to Skye Ferry Terminal to take a ferry to Outer Hebrides (on your own) for a relaxing chilled out evening by yourselves. On arrival, check in to the hotel. You are free to explore this beautiful island. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Outer Hebrides - Sea Trek Cruise (Optional)

This morning, you can opt for a Sea Trek Cruise. Whether your interest is in wildlife trips, a special charter or family trips – this is a perfect choice. Choose from a range of exhilarating short trips in purpose built rigid inflatable boats or opt for a day cruise aboard ‘Lochlann’ where you will be taken to some of the most beautiful, remote and unspoilt areas of the Outer Hebrides. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Outer Hebrides - Fort William (By Bus/Approx 4 hours)

Today after breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed towards the Ferry terminal to take a ferry on your own to UIG. From here you will have to take a Citylink Bus to Fort William (on direct payment). On arrival, check into the hotel and relax. William is a major tourist centre for hill walking and climbing. It's also known for historical sight-seeing, shopping, walking and cycling. Just outside of town, there is a downhill mountain-biking track that attracts thousands every year, including major international competitors. You can choose to go for this which will give you the jolt of excitement that you are looking for. Speaking of excitement, more than a few famous films were shot in or near Fort William, including braveheart and the opening sequence of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Fort William - Coasteering Activity (Optional)

After breakfast, set out for Coasteering on your own. This family friendly outdoor activity involves sliding down natural water flumes, swimming through crystal clear pools, fun small jumps and scrambles down this wonderful little canyon. All the features in the Allt Van Halen are optional which makes it the perfect activity for mixed ability. Challenge yourself with nature's watery wonderland – a fun outdoor adventure, enjoy it at your own pace. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Fort William - Segway Activity (Optional)

Segway is an increasingly popular outdoor activity in the UK.
