Reanne’s journey in Maharashtra begins with a trek to Kalsubai, the highest peak in the state, followed by the shock that for the next few weeks she would have a caravan as a home. But she is in for a pleasant surprise when Krissann takes her to a winery to unwind.

A canyon carved deep into the Sahyadri mountains, Sandhan Valley is designed for adventure. The “Valley of Shadows”, as it’s called, can be explored through a trek that includes rappelling down into the ravines where sun rays don’t enter. Will Krissann be able to conquer her fear of heights and finish the trek or will she lose her nerve?

Krisann and Reanne have been exploring the “van life” in Maharashtra, the vibrant and beautiful state in Western India. On the way to Pune, they stop at Kamshet, where Reanne attempts to help Krissann overcome her fear of heights through a paragliding session. Krissann introduces her to the famous ‘misal’ of Pune. What started as a simple road trip soon begins to turn into a journey of shedding inhibitions.

Sindhudurg Fort is one of the most invincible forts built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. It has been built in such a manner that the entrance gate is not visible to those on the outside. As Krissann and Reanne explore this intriguing sea fort, they get a peek into the masterful defense strategies of the erstwhile ruler.

Krissann and Reanne’s caravan tour across Maharashtra takes them on a journey back in time, in the historical city of Kolhapur. From magnificent palaces to ancient temples, the city’s monuments are evocative of bygone eras.

Aurangabad’s claim to fame might be its proximity to the world-famous Ajanta and Ellora caves, but Krisann and Reanne find out that there’s a lot more to the city than meets the eye. From a crumbling fort that was once a defense masterpiece to a rich delicacy that used to be the sustenance of soldiers, everything about the city narrates stories of the Tughlaq and Mughal eras, when it was a military base.

Built into volcanic basalt cliffs between the sixth and tenth centuries, the Ellora Caves took more than 500 years of laborious hand carving to complete. When Krissann and Reanne take a tour of this collection of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain shrines, the stories behind the remarkably detailed sculptures begin to unfold in front of their eyes.

Around 52,000 years ago, a meteor weighing about two million tons hurtled through space at an estimated speed of 90,000 kmph and crashed into the earth creating a magnificent trough. Today, this geological wonder that is the Lonar Lake in Maharashtra, holds immense scientific, mythological and historical significance. Reanne and Krissann find themselves intrigued by its mysteries.

Exploring the “van life” on an adventurous trip across Maharashtra, Krisann and Reanne have been giving other travelers some serious travel goals. At Tadoba National Park, however, they swap their cozy motorhome for an open jeep that takes them deep into the forest. But what happens when they hear the deep chuff of a hungry tigress nearby?
