Gujarat is home to some of the most venerated religious landmarks. In a land which has played a starring role in most Indian myths, these landmarks are not just links in a grand narrative or folklore, but entire histories unto themselves. Pilgrims to these sites don’t just visit them to garner divine grace, but also to reaffirm their own inherited beliefs.
Upon arrival in Rajkot, you will be received and driven in a car to Somnath, 5-6 hours away. After check-in, get refreshed, before embarking on a visit to Somnath Temple. This intricately designed abode of Lord Shiva is revered as much for its beauty as for its divine sanctity. You can spend some time enjoying the pristine solitude of the Veraval Beach, capping off a leisurely evening. Overnight stay in Somnath.
After a filling breakfast, time to set off on the 234 km drive to Dwarka. On reaching Dwarka, check-in and recharge your senses. Rest of the day is free for you to relax and explore on your own. Overnight stay in Dwarka.
Morning begins with a satisfying breakfast, before a visit to Dwarkadhish Temple beckons. One of the largest and holiest of Hindu pilgrimage sites, the Temple is a timeless wonder. Age has not blunted the sharply designed decor, or made its size any less imposing. Later, we head to Dwarka Bet, what is believed to be the last remnant of the submerged city of Dwarka. Wind down in the evening. Overnight stay in Dwarka.
Day 4 and it’s time to bid goodbye with a final breakfast. Soon, you must be on your way to Rajkot, 4-5 hours away, to catch your flight/train home from this spiritually enhancing getaway!
