After arriving in Dharamshala or Mcleodganj, the next leg of the journey is to Kareri Village, also known as Kareri Khas. This is the trek's starting point, located 25 kilometers from Dharamshala. Early in the morning, start hiking from Kareri Village to Rioti camp. The journey begins in the village of Kareri and takes you on a narrow path between lush mountains and a narrow gorge. You will see the region's diverse flora along the way. The total trekking distance will be approximately 6 kilometers and will take approximately 5 hours to complete. The trail is mostly uphill, with a few steep ascents thrown in for good measure. You'll be walking through a dense forest of Pine and Deodar for the majority of the way.
