    Kareri Village to Rioti Camp

    After arriving in Dharamshala or Mcleodganj, the next leg of the journey is to Kareri Village, also known as Kareri Khas. This is the trek's starting point, located 25 kilometers from Dharamshala. Early in the morning, start hiking from Kareri Village to Rioti camp. The journey begins in the village of Kareri and takes you on a narrow path between lush mountains and a narrow gorge. You will see the region's diverse flora along the way. The total trekking distance will be approximately 6 kilometers and will take approximately 5 hours to complete. The trail is mostly uphill, with a few steep ascents thrown in for good measure. You'll be walking through a dense forest of Pine and Deodar for the majority of the way. On the way, there is also a large waterfall. Nylund nallah will accompany you on your journey.     Rioti Village to Kareri Base Camp

    Today is the day you enter Minkiani pass base, the day you will navigate a slippery, rough, and narrow path along the river's gorge. This trail provides breathtaking views of the northern region's majestic peaks. You will be walking through a beautiful grass meadow. You'll be walking along the Nyund nallah all the way to the lake, making the journey even more scenic. There will also be a few small springs along the way. The lake is on the other side of the hill, and you must follow the downhill trails to get close to it. The walk is still uphill, but it is manageable. The ascent will be gradual, reaching a maximum altitude of 2950 meters (9650 feet) at the lake. You begin your ascent from the gorge to the Kareri Lake camping area. The 2-hour hike will take you to a pleasant meadow with views of the Baleni Pass, the Minkiani Pass, and the valley below. This will be your camp spot for the night.     Trekking Kareri to Minkaini Pass to Kareri Lake

    You will begin early in the morning, following breakfast. Today's journey is the more difficult one. But each step the hikers take brings them closer to heaven. The path takes you through alpine forests, dilapidated bridges, and rivulets. Only towering spruces and firs, as well as lush grass, will be visible. The clouds may be right on the surface here, and you may be able to pass through them. The Minkaini trek is well-known for its numerous crossings of the Lyund River. After 4-5 hours of arduous climbing, you will arrive at Minkaini pass. Minkaini pass is 14000 feet above sea level.     Kareri Dal to Dharamshala

    You will be walking alongside a gushing river as you begin your walk from Kareri Lake. As you descend, the thick vegetation will reappear, and you will see tall deodar and pine trees. After arriving in Ghera village, board a Jeep and drive to McLeodganj, where the Minkiani Pass and Kareri Lake Trek comes to an end.
