Few places pair a world-class city with Big Five game drives a short flight away. Kruger and its private reserves are among the best in Africa.
The Garden Route and Cape Peninsula link penguin beaches, cliff-top lookouts and forests — easy to explore at your own pace.
From November to March, Cape Town has long dry days, harvest season in the Winelands and the warmest seas of the year.
Recommended length: 9–12 nights
Fly from Cape Town or George to the Kruger area. A private reserve adds guided game drives twice a day.
Choose the right season
Cape Town is dry and warm from November to March, busiest over Christmas and New Year. Kruger has its summer rains from October to March — green and full of young animals, though game is harder to spot than in winter.

Visa needed — apply online or through VFS
Indian passport holders need a visa before travel; there’s no visa on arrival. Since August 2026 you can apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), usually decided within a day, for arrivals at Johannesburg, Cape Town or Lanseria. A visitor visa through VFS Global remains an option, with no visa fee for Indians.

One stop, about 13–16 hours
There’s no nonstop flight from India. Most travellers connect through Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa or Nairobi — or through Mauritius, which makes an easy beach add-on.
